Rare wristwatch with antimagnetic case, reference 2509, c. 1950
Case: rose gold 750, numbered 693702, soft iron anti-magnetic shielding, diameter c. 36 mm
Movement: manual winding, decorated lever movement, numbered 726694, calibre 12-400, precision adjust, 18 stones
Dial: silver-coloured, applied hour markers, small second
The reference 2509 and the comparable reference 2508 were launched together in 1950 as water-resistant watches with an anti-magnetic movement. They differ in the arrangement of the second hand. The case was produced by Frères Borgel. In addition, the word "Vacuum" is engraved on the inside of the bottom to emphasize the special tightness of this watch. This is also the origin of the appellation “Grande Calatrava Waterproof”, which is well known among collectors. The reference 2509 was produced until 1967. Of these, only about 20% are in rose gold.
