A Unique Cabinet Mod. “Hommage at the MAYA AZTEKEN CULTURE TO 1521 DECLINE”, designed and manufactured by Johann Rumpf
in 2021, cuboid base with tapering pointed shape, the front with drawers, hand-painted by the artist with light-fast furniture lacquers, with carvings, glass fusing parts and Maya characters with contemporary reinterpretation. Height c. 186 cm, width c. 95 cm, depth c. 36 cm. (MHA)

Johann Rumpf was born in Vienna on 7 April 1950. 1970 – 1974: worked for the enamel jewellery company Michaela Frey in Vienna; 1973 - 1974: children’ art supervisor at the “Wiener Ferienspiel” and organiser of painting courses in Vienna; 1976: licence for artistic screen printing; 1976: member of the Professional Association of Austrian Fine Artists; foundation of the artisan company Johann Rumpf with a focus on glass painting; 1977 - 1992: various exhibitions in Austria and abroad (Vienna, Salzburg, Munich, Frankfurt, New York, etc.); 1992 - 1993: construction of the Kunsthaus Rumpf; 1994 - 2020: various exhibitions and art auctions; Johann Rumpf lives and works in Vienna.
