Porzellan Sammlung Dresden im Zwinger, 1998 exhibition collection, p. 166: In keeping with Augustus the Strong’s great enthusiasm for Chinese and, even more, Japanese porcelain, the Meissen dinner service with the “Red Dragon” displays a thorough East Asian influence. Until 1918, the red court dragon décor was reserved exclusively for porcelain used at the Saxon royal court.
