In Greek mythology, Omphale was the daughter of Jardanos and queen of Lydia after her marriage to Tmolos, an early Lydian king. After his death, she continued to rule alone. She bought Hercules out of slavery and made him wear women’s clothes. He served her for three years, and Omphale bore him a son, Lamos.
