Nain Habibian,
Central Persia (Iran), c. 516 x 360 cm, mid-20th century. The first Nain carpets were produced around the time of World War II and were traded as extremely expensive Iranian products; the Habibian workshop is the most famous of all and its signature was often misappropriated and used in lower quality items for deceitful purposes; the present oversized carpet is an original specimen with c. 800,000 kts/sqm and approximately 20% silk proportion, in excellent condition, with minimal imaginary stains, and a signature on the upper front.
