An Imposing Régence Desk,
so-called bureau plat, in the style of NICOLAS SAGEOT (1666-1731), early 18th century and later, gently curved rosewood veneered hardwood and softwood frame with rich tortoiseshell decoration, combined with elaborately executed sheet brass inlays - the latter mainly floral and in the form of putti, animals and music-making jugglers, 7 drawers, 1 hinged plate in the knee area, bronze sabots at the feet, c. 80 x 132 x 71 cm, partly reworked and some elements added in the course of a comprehensive restoration, well-kept condition.
