This set of armchairs comes from Wittgenstein House (3rd district, Kundmanngasse 19), which was built in 1926/27 according to plans by Loos student Paul Engelmann and Ludwig Wittgenstein for his sister, Margaret Stonborough-Wittgenstein. Margret Stonborough-Wittgenstein (1882-1958) was the youngest daughter of steel magnate Karl Wittgenstein, sister of philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein and pianist Paul Wittgenstein.
