Daily and nightly bits and pieces, taken care of for myself and for others, who tire of the great one. I create my over-dimensional works in order to finally get to the small ones, because I am always worried about, and therefore avoid, what one might call “hall art”, “place sculpture”, “ballroom painting”. To me, “bits and pieces” means the intense style of exertion needed to forget about exhibition painting, to go walking around lightness and without obligation; thus: burdenlessness, possibilities of moodiness, springing about, more mobility. At thirty years of age I had already begun to notice the hardening of aging, perservance through the past, the search for quality through self-classicism. The escape into the miniature, that should be my reward for my ripe old age, for my final spurt, because by that point I will only desire to live with a drawer.
