Iran, c. 170 x 129 cm, 19th century. A pure silk carpet with massive central medallion and inscribed cartouches in the upper border. The two large cartouches show a Persian "nasta'lig" couple, the middle one congratulating with "mubarak bad". Manufactured with c. 500,000 knots/sqm, with minor traces of usage and a few small stains, in good condition. (VP)
