Beckmann had close links with the international computer art scene. He took part in pioneering exhibitions and events (including the symposia and exhibitions of the "Tendencije" series in Zagreb in 1968/69), maintained contacts with numerous other protagonists of computer art, including Marc Adrian, Kurt Alsleben, and Frieder Nake. Article Neue Galerie Graz, Otto Beckmann Exhibition 2008 Otto Beckmann participated in Ars Electronica in Linz in 1979 and 1980, where he presented the Metropolis 2080 project as a vision of future architectural worlds.
