A Superb Salon Chandelier,
designed and manufactured by HENRY DASSON (1825–1896) c. 1880/90 (attributed), wired for 8 lights, bronze doré frame in the form of music-making putti, 8 arms in volute form with garland-like glass beads, baluster-like upper finial with further glass pendants, height c. 85 cm, diameter c. 60 cm, cleaned and restored condition, without guarantee for electrical fitting. This bronze chandelier, made in excellent quality, is based on a model executed in around 1780 and now preserved in the Palace of Versailles (cabinet doré);
that model is attributed to the important bronze founder PIERRE GOUTHIÉRE (1732- 1813/14, master as of 1758).
