Luca Madrassi was a French sculptor of Italian origin. He first studied art in Rome before moving to Paris and enrolling at the École des Beaux-Arts, where he studied under Pierre-Jules Cavelier. He then joined the studio of Albert Ernest Carrier Belleuse and subsequently the studio of Gustave Doré. He became a French citizen in 1890.
