"... Then I slowly eliminated everything that could be considered physiological figuration and I realised that I had to look for light, that is, structural value. I had to construct light, but not as Tobey would do, who basically continues a kind of illustrative verigraphy. I realised that by destroying the sign I was removing everything that could be significant and in doing so light would appear. I set out on this road which led me to my current painting'.
