light-bodied ceramic, white and cobalt blue glaze; gallant couple on a base, the cavalier with tricorne kissing the lady with rococo dress on the shoulder; the base professionally restored on the back, cavalier with very slight chipping to the brim of the hat on the back and under the shoulder on the back, irregularities to the glaze, very slight chipping to the bottom of the base; the back of the cape with incised signature Kostial; marked on the underside: black stamped company signet Goldscheider Wien (GS 19), handdecorated, Made in Austria, embossed model number 5517, embossed number 236, embossed number 4, incised M 27; height 36.5 cm.
