A three-piece tea service with stylised floral motifs, in the style of Leopoldine Sturm, Gmundner Keramik, by c. 1949
light-bodied ceramic, black and white glazed; with stylised floral motifs and stars; consisting of: a teapot with cover (height 13.3 cm) a large creamer with cover (finial professionally restored, height 14.1 cm) and a small milk jug with cover (height 12.0 cm); undersides with stamped and embossed workshop signet, numberings and partly painter’s signet. (MP) Literature: cf. a pot with oriental decoration in black and white: Edenhofer, Markenführer Gmundner Keramik, Schleiss Keramik, p. 42 (initials of the students of the Schleiss School apprentice workshop). Leopoldine Sturm attended the Schleiss school in 1918-22 was and later active at Gmundner Keramik until June 1933.
