Hartung developed, from the beginning of his art, a complex language, difficult to synthesize in pre-established interpretation categories, although the departing point, the main requirement, seemed to be the research for a language which was able to free itself completely, without nostalgia of figuration, and therefore of any narrative aspect, to exist in itself for itself, managing to represent and mean, finally, after the centuries’ old slavery of reality, just itself.
