19th century. A fine tapestry with a portrait of the painter Charles Cousin in Arab costume, modelled on the 1838 oil painting by the Belgian painter Louis Gallaits, now preserved in the Musee des Beaux Arts in Lyon. An inscription in the lower border reads: "Manufacture de Tapisseries Braquenie Freres a Malines 1874". Very good condition, backed with fabric.
