A unique high-back chair ‘For The Big BOSS’, designed and manufactured by Johann Rumpf
2020, four legs, modified construction made of polychrome lacquered wood, with acrylic paint and lightfast furniture varnishes. Height c. 178 cm, width c. 61 cm, depth c. 47 cm. Slight signs of age and use. (MHA)
A unique item. Johann Rumpf was born in Vienna on 7 April 1950. 1970 – 1974: worked for the enamel jewellery company Michaela Frey in Vienna; 1973 - 1974: children’ art supervisor at the “Wiener Ferienspiel” and organiser of painting courses in Vienna; 1976: licence for artistic screen printing; 1976: member of the Professional Association of Austrian Fine Artists; foundation of the artisan company Johann Rumpf with a focus on glass painting; 1977 - 1992: various exhibitions in Austria and abroad (Vienna, Salzburg, Munich, Frankfurt, New York, etc.); 1992 - 1993: construction of the Kunsthaus Rumpf; 1994 - 2020: various exhibitions and art auctions. Objects by Johann Rumpf are preserved in various museums and renowned collections such as Barbier-Mueller. Johann Rumpf lives and works in Vienna.
