The work is from the author’s studio.
After studying at the Glassmaking Secondary School in Kamenický Šenov, he studied in prof. Libenský’s studio at the AAAD in Prague, where he graduated in 1988. Between 1990 and 2008, he was prof. Vladimír Kopecký’s professional assistant at the AAAD in Prague. Besides teaching, the author is also a freelance artist. Combining and layering techniques, where the surface of the fused sculptures is disrupted through cutting, carving, and etching, is characteristic of his work. Thus he creates dramatic cracks, grooves, and structures that are remotely inspired by nature.
