Sturdy dialogue of opposites

A monolith-like massive table construction that juxtaposes two fundamental materials in human evolution - metal and wood. Designed by Oskar Zieta the worldwide known explorer of steel potential and the proprietary deformation process FiDU (Freie Innendruck Umformung). "Parova" Table continues the narrative of an existing series of objects which in its essence are reminiscent of a lichen, a plant organism suited to the terrain. As the evolution went together with scalability, "Parova" evolved into a sturdy table construction. It is an object that merges two opposites: the coolness of metal and the warmth of wood, an industrial character with tradition manifested in the material. "Parova" table continues Oskar Zieta's narrative about discovering material possibilities. The optically massive, tube-like legs as a result of the FiDU manufacturing process - are disproportionately lightweight. They manifest the potential of parametric optimization of the designing process and later its materialization. Each "Parova's" leg is individually crafted. First drawn, parameterized, later 3-D printed as a prototype. A prototype is virtually improved, once scanned. Once stability and aesthetics were agreed upon, each monolith-like frame was laser-cut from a thin metal sheet, carefully welded, and inflated by hi-pressure air. Steel gets its freedom to deform under the technological leadership - that's what Zieta calls controlled loss of control. An expressive form of the satin steel base is crowned by the black oiled oak top - together composing a modern sculpture and functional interior element.
