Crater Messier G is in the center foreground on this view taken with the 250mm telephoto lens looking northwest over the Sea of Fertility on orbit 71. Latitude / longitude: 5.5° S / 52.5° E.
Second photograph:
This view taken looking northwest over the Bay of rainbows in the Sea of Rains on orbit 71. Latitude / longitude: 36.5° N / 31.5° W. Montes Jura, the mountain range that forms the rim of the Bay of Rainbows, is on the horizon. Hercules Promontory (representing the southwestern cusp of the Bay of Rainbows) is in the left background. The Bay of Rainbows was the landing site of the first Chinese Lunar Lander Chang’e 3 in December 2013.
