Vienna Art Week
Every year the Dorotheum-initiated “Vienna Art Week” attracts approximately 35,000 visitors and international guests to around 180 art events. Since 2005, the event puts Vienna’s vibrant art and cultural scene in the spotlight.
Meanwhile it has become a significant platform for Vienna’s art institutions, art universities, galleries an independent art spaces. Its numerous events bring artists and art enthusiasts together to explore the wide variety of art offerings.
Every year the Vienna Art Week program entails over 100 events with free entry ranging from guided studio tours to expert talks, performances, workshops and exhibition openings to presentations, symposia and interventions in the public space.
The Vienna Art Week is based on a worldwide unique cooperation of around 70 partners, including Viennese art institutions, art universities, galleries, independent art spaces, as well as artists and has become one of the most important art events in the Danube region.
The Dorotheum is also a member of “Art Cluster Vienna”, the leading institution of Vienna Art Week. It was founded in 2004 with the aim of putting Vienna on the map as an international art city. It is a cooperation of the most important art institutions in Vienna that significantly contribute to the success of Vienna Art Week with their high-quality programs and ideas.
