A female herm from the façade of the Heinrichshof, now demolished,
Vienna, 1861-1863, terracotta, comprising 4 sections, not mounted, unrestored condition, age-related damage, approx. 25 cm has been cut away from the base of the pilaster and is missing, full height 254 cm, (MC)
The herm originates from the Heinrichshof, built 1861-63 by Theophil von Hansen. It was badly damaged during the war and was demolished in 1954. The Heinrichshof was commissioned by Heinrich Drasche of Wartinberg, whose terracotta and majolica workshop in Wienerberg produced the herm, which was listed as early as 1858 in his catalogue of samples.
