India: a necklace made of silver with three transverse octagonal amulet holders as pendants.
A necklace made of very good quality silver. Made of three interlinked hanks of small silver rings, punctuated on both sides by an engraved spacer made of silver. The three amulet holders (for written amulets) that hang at the bottom are also made of silver, and each has eight sides which alternate between smooth or engraved with leafy tendrils and flowers. The lowest, larger amulet box can be opened on one side by a screw fastener (on the top). A beautiful piece, without damage.
Length: c. 40 cm; weight: 610 g. First third of the 20th century. (ME)
