A child’s dress from the Tekke Turkmens. From the three neighbouring countries of Turkmenistan, Iran and Afghanistan. Made of striped red and black cotton. The shoulders and side edging feature colourful embroidery. With a twelve-part chain made of silver alloy and set with colourful glass stones sewn on to the front, as well as fifteen repoussé, predominantly round, protective amulets made of silver and silver alloy, set with four glass stones, on the reverse.
Dimensions: c. 49 cm x 62 cm. First half of the 20th century. (ME)

The shoulders and side edging feature colourful embroidery.
