Afghanistan, Iran, Turkmenistan: tribe: Turkmens: an old necklace made of silver with an almost u-shaped curved pendant set with three large carnelians.
An attractive necklace made of silver, probably of the Tekke Turkmens. The large pendant is cut from sheet silver in a curved shape, edged with silver wire forming fish and flowers, and set with three large oval-shaped angular carnelian stones.
The finely crafted chain features an attractively formed hook closure (with inscription). Seventeen silver pendants are mounted on chains hanging from the lower edge. A typical old piece with good traces of wear and no damage.
Dimensions: c. 11 cm x 15 cm (the pendant alone);
Length: c. 40 cm (the whole chain with pendants). Between the 19th and the early 20th centuries. (ME)
