Mixed lot (2 pieces): Yemen: two necklaces made of silver. - Tribal Art

1: A Yemeni necklace comprising five hanks strung with small, round silver beads, alternated with three box-shaped rectangular spacers decorated on the front side with silver wire that has been soldered on and round plates (smooth on the reverse). A long round pendant decorated with silver wire and filigree spheres to the sides hangs from the eyelets on each of these spacers. A pendant with two spheres hangs from each of the four eyelets on the long pendants. The chain ends at each side with a triangular box-shaped filial, each of which has three tubular silver beads and three round silver beads. Each end terminates with a silver bead. All metal parts are old and made of silver (or good silver alloy), but have been restrung. Length: c. 64 cm (in total).

2: A necklace comprising spherical round silver beads, punctuated by eighteen larger silver beads with eyelets. The finial at each end is a long, tubular silver bead with a middle ridge and a piece of sheet silver hanging off it. All metal parts are old and made of good silver but the chain has been restrung in its entirety.
