Mixed lot (4 pieces), silver jewellery from North Africa, the Sahara region, Mauritania, Tuareg, Peul: a bangle and three finger rings made of silver. - Tribal Art

1: A bangle with a hinge and a pin fastening. The exterior is covered in ten groups of nine silver spheres each, and with flat, some round, partially engraved spacers. Provenance: South Morocco, Mauritania. Diameter: 6.5 cm.

2: Three silver rings from the Tuareg, who live in the Sahara region covering southern Morocco, southern Algeria, northern Mali and Niger. One ring is crafted from silver sheet metal in the shape of a large round blunted cone. The top is decorated with a small semi-sphere and typical star-shaped Tuareg engraving. The silver finger band, which has been soldered on, also has an engraved decorative strip.
The second, smaller silver ring has four distinct spikes on the top, and the top of the third ring displays three spheres on a base, with four smaller spheres on the sides.
All four pieces of jewellery in this mixed lot are made of the highest quality silver. First third of the 20th century. (ME)
