A belt for traditional male Caucasian dress. 45 pieces on a strip of leather. All 45 parts are cast from top-quality silver and their front side is decorated with engraved bosses, spikes, leaves and flowers, along with black niello. Small sections feature fire-gilding (at the bottom and on decorative strips). All the pieces are hallmarked on their smooth reverse. The boss of the hook-and-eye buckle is round, prominent, and encircled by decorative strips. Half of the inside of the buckle features a man with a pitcher, cast in relief and accentuated with niello. A very elaborately crafted ornamental belt from the traditional dress of the Caucasus.
