A ‘lighter’ from Tibet. With a large pouch made of leather and a thick, slightly curved striking iron below (with a crack). On the front and back the leather pouch displays a large, engraved edge made of gilt silver and three decorative pieces on both sides consisting of leafy tendrils and blossoms, made of silver, gilded in part and decorated with blue enamel. In the upper section a pendant on a chain made of braided silver wire hangs on a silver bow. This pendant is made of cast and engraved silver. It displays two intersecting dragons, gilded in part, as well as decorated with blue and green enamel. Thereon hangs another rectangular, smaller, box-shaped pendant with a good luck symbol (‘endless knot’) in the middle and is also decorated with blue and green enamel. This pendant displays a black leather strap, with which the ‘lighter’ would be attached to a belt. A highly elaborate and carefully designed object. A ‘master hallmark’ on the reverse of the pendant. No significant damage.
Dimensions: c. 6 cm x 13 cm (the ‘lighter’); 20 cm x 7.3 cm (the pendant).
