Mixed lot (3 pieces), Afghanistan: tribes: Turkmens, Tajiks: ornamental tiaras for women’s bonnets, made of silver, one gilded. All 3 chains are decorated with carnelians. - Tribal Art

1: A bonnet ornament of the Tekke Turkmens. Made of 7 cut and engraved silver plates, partly gilded. With many pendants and richly covered with cabochon cut carnelians. Height: c. 16 cm (with pendants); width: 56 cm.
2: A decorative bonnet chain from the Yomud Turkmens. Made of silver parts, interlinked, with pendants, and set with cabochon cut carnelians.
Height: c. 12 cm (with pendants); width: 33 cm (the tiara without side chains).
3: A ‘bridal tiara’ for a bonnet or the hair of a Tajik woman in Northern Afghanistan. Made of silver, with two rows of smaller, interlinked ‘flowers’ and pendants. Decorated with a smooth carnelian, as well as red and green glass stones. Width: 55 cm.
All three objects in this mixed lot are complete and in excellent condition.
