Syria: an old, Syrian dagger with beautiful, elaborate decor.
A dagger from Syria with a gently curved, double-edged blade and long tip. The blade is engraved on both sides with lines and three stars. Additionally, one side features Arabic inscriptions and crescent moons, whilst on the other side there are only crescent moon lines. The hilt is made of black precious wood, is geometrically decorated with inlays of mother of pearl, brass and copper. It is finished above with brass and engraved foliage. The wooden sheath is cloaked in brass sheet metal. On the front side it is decoratively engraved and ends in a bud. A beautiful, old and complete object.
Length: 27 cm (dagger in sheath).
