An oriental belt buckle from eastern Anatolia or further to the east (Turkmens?). It is made of a high quality silver in two parts (with a pin fastening) and an underlay of copper. It is decorated with triangular and rhomb shaped engravings in the form of curves, hearts and paisley, with strips of black niello, silver hemispheres, three smooth carnelian stones and an Ottoman silver coin. It has been perfectly preserved, no damage.
Height: c. 6 cm; width: c. 27 cm.
