A New Czech Chronicle - unlike previous Pelcl’s works was written in Czech and it is divided into four parts (Volume 1 - 1791, Volume 2 - 1792, Volume 3 - 1796, Volume 4 - 1800). It ends in the year 1429. Publishing of Volume 4 was greatly complicated because of the negative attitude of the Czech censors; its publishing was subsequently approved by a court censor from Vienna (inter alia on the basis of intercession by Pelcl’s friends).
