M. Volpi Orlandini, J. Lassaigne, G. Crisafi, Dorazio. Catalogo ragionato delle opere, Alfieri, Venice 1977, p. 143 (full page) no. 1171

In Piero Dorazio’s painting geometry is a scheme to be subverted by undermining the closed form; color is the instrument of dynamic saturatiojn of the space; the constructive value of the composition determines fields of tension commensurate to the vertigo of the unstable equilibriums. The piece is a luminous score that follows the continuous pulsation of space, the vibrations of color are rhythms projected toward other channels; their dynamic flux reveals interior sounds, oblique resonances of marking strokes, woven thought that slides from pictorial discipline.
