Christian Ludwig Attersee * - Modern and Contemporary Prints

(born Bratislava in 1940) "Der Friseur" (The Hairdresser), 18 hand-coloured and annotated offset lithographs, including an original drawing by the artist (with attached comb), title of the drawing: Pyramidel, dated 78, in original linen casket, signed on the supplementary sheet, dated Attersee 78, no. 6 of 35 numbered prints, 43.5 x 35 x 8 cm, Gorsen 842- 859, (19), (EW)

“In his principal graphic works of the 1970s, the Gastlichkeitschachtel (1974) and the Friseur cycle (1976-78), which were closely related to his painting of the same period, the advent of the rhythmic and ornamental, the motorised movement and the automatic scribbles represent a significant disturbance to any purely objective and identificatory form of presentation, and which gains in intensity over the years.” (Peter Gorsen, Attersee. Cat. raisonné 1963-1994, published by Residenz, Salzburg and Vienna, 1994, p.26)
