metal mounts, porcelain, cobalt blue body with gilt edging, the neck and round base with bright and matt gilt floral garlands, reeds and medallions, the facing side decorated with a polychromed landscape and reclining Mars and Venus, flanked by Cupid with dog, among the clouds the chariot of Venus with swans, light blue bands and guided by 2 amorettes, the bottom left inscribed: H. Poitevin, outlined with gilt acanthus leaves and bell flowers, geometric decoration and delicate leafy tendrils, the reverse side decorated with a marine landscape and village view, the rim with yellow metal insert and moulded acanthus wreaths, Bacchus head handles, the base of the body and knop with acanthus leaves, octagonal plinth, height: 93 cm, insert slightly loose, France, ca. 1880 (Ru)
