Friedrich Rentsch, sculptor, (Dresden 2.1.1836–17.11.1899 Dresden), from 1873 lecturer for ornamental- and figure drawing at the technical university in Dresden, 1888 ord. Prof; sun of the portrait- and history painter, master draughtsman, and lecturer at the Dresden Academy, (Friedrich Rentsch 1792–1856), master class of E. Hähnel; Ernst Julius Hähnel, sculptor, professor, Dr. h. c., (Dresden 9.3.1811–22.5.1891 Dresden), from 1880 freelance work at the Meissen Manufactory.
