Museum quality and extremely rare pair of Italian Baroque bureau cabinets,
Lombardy circa 1720/30. Three-part serpentine cabinets with marquetry of walnut and various burlwoods and ebonised mouldings. The lower section with one drawer and 2 doors (with later alterations) with sham drawer fronts; a writing section with fall front, and an upper section with gold painted applications and vases, 2 doors and 5 small external drawers. Ca. 260 x 130 x 72 cm. Some heavy ageing and evidence of repair, on good and rare original materials. (PZ)
