Literature:
K. Ertz, Josse de Momper der Jüngere, Freren 1986, pp. 174/75, p. 593, no. 468
A certificate issued by Klaus Ertz is available (4th June 2016). He dates the painting to the period around 1630. The figural staffage is reminiscent of the peasant figures of Jan Brueghel the Younger, which indicates that the painter of the present figures must have come from the latter’s circle.
