We are grateful to Klaus Ertz for confirming the attribution after examination in the original. A written certificate is available.
The present painting relates closely to the Feeding of the Poor by Vinckboons, which was sold on the 16th October 2007 at the Dorotheum, Vienna, as lot 44 (sold for € 55,200). Further slightly varied versions of this composition can be found at the Statens Museum, Copenhagen, and the Nationalmuseum, Stockholm (see: K. Ertz, David Vinckboons, Lingen 2016, p. 388f., no. 145 and 146). While the Copenhagen painting is from 1606, Ertz dates the other versions, including the present painting, to circa 1610.
