An important Historism Period bronze mantel clock from Vienna - "Vindobona" - Antiques: Clocks, Vintage, Asian art, Faience, Folk Art, Sculpture

"Hollenbach Fbr. de bronze Vienne", pendulum movement, spring driven, wire suspension, power reserve: 8 days, count wheel 1/2 hour striking mechanism on bell, ornamented gilt bronze dial, enamel cartouches with blue Roman numerals, blued steel clock hands, splendid heavy gilt bronze clock-case in the Rococo style, figure of Vindobona seated on the horizontal rocaille plinth, surmounted by Zeus and eagle, flanked by peacocks, 64 cm, Austria ca. 1870/90, in unrestored condition, glazing, pendulum and coat-of-arms lost, traces of wear and tear, no warranty for precision of movement and long-term functioning, (HP)
