Yomut central carpet, - Oriental Carpets, Textiles and Tapestries

West Turkestan, c. 276 x 163 cm, mid-19th century, an earlier central carpet in very finely knotted pattern with classic kepse guls as field pattern, the decorations are arranged in alternating colours diagonally from right to left, the main border with rolled leaf - on the short sides ashik forms, both elems are very interesting, whereby the lower end with smaller trees appears even more archaic, only slight signs of wear, both ends with preserved selvedge.
