South Caucasus, c. 239 x 133 cm, dated 1894, ethnic Kurdish carpet of the semi-nomadic tribes of Karabakh with cruciform central field and residual forms of dragon carpets in the peripheral white bars, the carpet displays a superb pattern proportion and colour condition, a very similar piece was published by Eder, original knotted warp threads on both sides, partially low pile with corroded brown, edges reworked.
