Unusual and very fine Rococo Long-case Clock, - Castle Schwallenbach - Collection Reinhold Hofstätter (1927- 2013)

Casing and brass spring movement from the 3rd quarter 18th cent., clockwork on the back signed Xaver Liebherr, Imenstatt (Franz Xaver Liebherr *1725 in Constance, died 1802 in Immenstadt), the soft-wood chassis arched and cambered and with painted red-green marble effect, carved with richly ornamental rocaille, flanked by standing lions and eagles bearing swords and shields, sheet-brass clock face with silvered digits, blued hands Zeiger, height (with plinth) ca. 232 cm, blown-glass sight window, the plinth restored, in well cared-for restored condition, no warranty for operation or reliability.
