1991 Jaguar XJ 12

1991 Jaguar XJ 12 - Classic Cars

In 1972, Jaguar crowned its limousine with a newly developed twelve-cylinder engine. Four doors and V12 had not existed in the automotive post-world war until that point. BMW followed suit in 1987 with the 7 Series. A V12 engine always presents a special source of power for an automobile. For Jaguar, this even went as far as the third series of the XJ being expanded until 1992, although the six-cylinder models had already been replaced in 1987.

This Jaguar was registered in December 1991 in Germany, and then imported as personal property to Austria in 1999, where it was registered in Kitzbühel to its thitherto sole owner. Since 2000, it has been part of a cultivated collection. As a late-comer vehicle, it delights with extravagant features – from leather to air conditioning and a sliding sunroof, and all the way to an ABS. Everything works as it should, including the air conditioning system. The great state of preservation indicates that this Jaguar most likely enjoyed the status of a collector’s vehicle throughout its entire lifespan. The way the 12-cylinder is set in motion can only be understood and appreciated by someone who has come into contact with the like.
