Rosinke in collaboration with Kohlmaier, Vienna, 2014, larch wood blocks, lathe-turned solid maple logs and fan construction, CNC-milled connections, gilded brass hinges, semi-transparent silk polyester, organic latex foam folding mattress and cushion, covered with Kvadrat pure wool fabric, signed and brand-marked: chmara rosinke/chmara. rosinke/conceptual design, height 120-190 cm, length 220 cm, width 90 cm, height of seat 32 cm. This daybed is inspired by the aestheticism of Japan. Its formal austerity is mitigated by the abstract and organic form of the fans. Their position can be adjusted, and, depending on the user’s mood, they may function as a kind of cocoon, encouraging such meditative associations as with trees or clouds.
