Anton Kothgasser, Vienna, 9.1.1769-3.6.1851, porcelain and glass painter, from 1784 design painter no. 96 at the Manufactory. At the suggestion of his brother-in-law, Kam Jakob Peter, porcelain painter, entered the Viennese Academy on 27.11.1781. Figure drawing under Füger. Until 1851 employed at the Viennese Manufactory, glass painting from 1811. He won numerous awards, on 20.5.1816 he was given permission, ‘to execute his glass painting at home. For some months.’ Nicolas Poussin, Villersen Vexin 15.6.1594-19.11.1665 Rome, French painter, in 1624 Poussin left for Rome, where he stayed until his death. Building on the traditions of Raphael, Titian, the Carraccis and Dominichino as well as ancient reliefs, he arrived at what was for France an epoch-making classicising style.
