French salon chest of drawers,
Made in the Transition style, late 19th/early 20th century, Paul Sormani (1817-1877). Made in oak with mahogany and amaranth veneer and marquetry panels in dyed fine woods, with three drawers, the lower two "sans traverse", with finely chased gilt bronze mounts and a moulded marble top (Breche d'Alep). 90.5 x 100.5 x 48 cm. The lock plate embossed Sormani Paris 134, Rue Haussmann, the back of some of the bronzes monogrammed PS. In restored condition, with minor losses. (MIN)
