Central Persia (Iran), c. 298 x 191 cm, about 1950, hunting was a popular theme in Persian carpets as early as the 16th and 17th centuries, the most famous example of which is the so-called “Vienna hunting carpet”, the present piece is manufactured in a rare large format on silk warp with c. 700,000 kts/sqm and luxurious, fine wool quality, featuring a hunting scene on light background, excellent condition.
